Square Enix Account: Used to access their premium MMO games. Did you know there used to be a separate accounts for say. You know, to get 'SE points' when you buy games like Tomb Raider/etc. Square Enix Account: Used to obtain membership rewards / 'frequent buyer' - that sort of thing. But they specifically asked about a SE account, which I have from another game. Had they said you need a FF14 account, I would understand that I would have to create that, as i've never played before. I'm still confused about my existing Square Enix account not being valid here. This was all through the launcher, and at no point have I been sent to a website. It led me through the set up of a new account, entering the cd key, and now i'm logged in on the launcher downloading 18 gigs of data. If you already have an account and try making new ones, you will waste yours and everybody's time. If you have never played before and your Steam purchase is your first time ever owning the game, use the CD Key provided in your game library for the steps listed in the first link. I'm going to assume you thought you were done and closed out early. If you're following those instructions, it actually does lead you to MogStation after you create the Square-Enix account. I do have an existing square enix account, so I was trying to use that, to no avail. Originally posted by Ostie:To be fair, my options were 'I have an existing square enix account' and ' I do not have an existing square enix account'. At no point have they mentioned mog station. For FF14, you apparently have to create a new square enix account through the launcher, which I have now done successfully. I think that account was created when I got the Tomb Raider reboot game. They asked if I have a square enix account, which I do, and it doesnt work. 'Are you trying to log into the SE account website, or MogStation?' I replied that I was trying to log into the game, as launched on steam, with my existing square enix account. 'Hate to be a broken record, but you ignored the response.' No, I didn't ignore you. At no point was there any mention of mogstation.įrom the perspective of someone trying to get FF14 set up for the first time, this is very confusing. I've now selected the 'I do not have an existing square enix account', and went through the steps on the launcher to create a new account. To be fair, my options were 'I have an existing square enix account' and ' I do not have an existing square enix account'.
